The profile of a witness
Because we are entrusted with divine messages it is often easy to regard a witness as someone supernatural; someone who has passed through different levels of spirituality to qualify to be appointed a witness.  Such assumptions place witnessing out of reach of the ordinary believer. Witnessing becomes the preserve of a few specially endowed men and women, members of the “Witnessing Club”.  How wrong!  Peter’s statement in v27 sums up the profile of a witness “I am only a man myself”.  James 5v17 says Elijah was an ordinary man like us but…………
